Davidoff
Davidoff is a cigar house rooted in Geneva, Switzerland, founded by the Davidoff family and now crafted in the Dominican Republic by Oettinger Davidoff AG. The house is renowned for refined cigars, including the Signature 2000, the Aniversario No. 3 and the Winston Churchill The Late Hour.
Geschichte
The house's story begins with Zino Davidoff, born in Kiev in 1906, whose family settled in Geneva, where his father opened a tobacco shop. After travelling to Cuba, Brazil and Argentina to learn about tobacco cultivation and cigar making, he transformed the family business by creating a climate-controlled room to keep cigars fresh. In 1947 he launched the first Davidoff lines, "Château" and "Grand Cru", inspired by the great wines of Bordeaux. During the 1970s the house produced Cuban cigars under its own name, before moving production to the Dominican Republic in 1991.
