The Diamond Crown house is a cigar brand from the Dominican Republic, produced by A. Fuente for J.C. Newman Cigar Co. It stands out for its bold, measured style, notably its 54 ring gauge format, and for its Maximus and Julius Caeser lines, which carry forward the tradition of cigar craftsmanship.
Geschichte
The house traces its origins to Julius Caeser Newman, a Hungarian immigrant who founded the J.C. Newman Cigar Company in 1895. The Diamond Crown brand was officially launched in 1995 to mark the company's centennial. In the 1990s, Stanford J. Newman, Julius's son, revived the brand in partnership with the Fuente family. Together they introduced a 54 ring gauge cigar, an uncommon size at the time, which set new standards in the industry. The Maximus line then emerged from a collaboration between the Newman, Fuente and Oliva families. The Julius Caeser series, launched for the company's 115th anniversary, pays tribute to the founder.
