Gilberto Oliva
Gilberto Oliva is a premium cigar brand from the Oliva family, one of the most respected names in the sector. It pays tribute to the family patriarch and is distinguished by a balanced profile, careful construction and the distinctive character of Nicaraguan tobacco. Its classic vitolas, Robusto, Toro, Churchill and Corona, come in several ring gauges.
Geschichte
The story begins in 1886, when Melanio Oliva grew tobacco in Pinar del Río, Cuba. Decades later, his grandson Gilberto Oliva was forced to leave the island and travelled through Honduras, Panama, Mexico and the Philippines before settling in Nicaragua, where he found ideal conditions to keep cultivating Cuban seed tobacco. The Gilberto Oliva line was launched in 1995 as the family's first commercially released cigar, produced in partnership with Plasencia. Shortly afterwards the line became the Oliva brand, before the name returned with the Reserva and Reserva Blanc collections, created to honour the patriarch.
