La Duena
La Dueña is a Nicaraguan cigar from the My Father Cigars house, handmade in Estelí by the García family. Its Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper and a binder and filler blending Connecticut leaf with Nicaraguan tobacco grown on family farms give a sweet, aromatic profile of medium to medium-full strength. The line counts six vitolas, including a box-pressed Toro Gordo.
Geschichte
La Dueña was created as a tribute to Janny García, daughter of José « Don Pepín » García and sister of Jaime García, a key member of the family behind My Father Cigars. After cigars dedicated to Don Pepín and then Jaime, she was the missing figure. The cigar arrived in 2012, its name literally meaning « the owner ». The blend was developed by Jaime García with Pete Johnson, founder of Tatuaje Cigars, reversing their usual roles, since the García family had for years made cigars for Tatuaje.
