Perla del Mar
Perla del Mar is a cigar brand from Nicaragua, produced by J.C. Newman Cigar Co. under the craftsmanship of A. Fuente. Its cigars are box-pressed in the Tampa style and built on selected, aged tobaccos from four Nicaraguan mountain regions, paired with Ecuadorian wrappers in Shade, Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro, or robust Corojo.
Geschichte
The brand's roots lie in twentieth-century Cuba, when four brothers began hand-rolling cigars with tobacco from their family farm on the island. They founded the company Perla del Mar Cigars Perfecto García Brothers and named their cigars after the Caribbean waters surrounding the island.
As demand grew, they built a large factory beside J.C. Newman's El Reloj factory in Ybor City, Florida. Perla del Mar was then one of the leading high-quality cigar brands of its time, a legacy that J.C. Newman's new cigars now honor.
