Rocky Patel
The Rocky Patel house, founded in the United States by Hollywood attorney Rakesh "Rocky" Patel, produces cigars in Honduras and Nicaragua. Its range spans classic lines and blends developed with his family team, offering aficionados rich, balanced flavours across a varied portfolio.
Geschichte
The story begins in 1995, when Rakesh "Rocky" Patel founded Indian Tabac Cigar Co. in California. His fascination with cigars took root while mingling with actors between film shoots, prompting him to sell his law practice and enter the tobacco business. In partnership with Phillip Zanghi III, under licence from Indian Motorcycle, he focused on Honduras, where Zanghi oversaw growing and manufacturing.
In 2006 the house moved to Naples, Florida, and adopted the name Rocky Patel Cigars, dropping the Indian Tabac brand in 2014. Since 2015 its headquarters have been in Bonita Springs. Initially made with tobacco grown in El Paraíso, Honduras, on land leased from Néstor Plasencia, the cigars later expanded to Nicaragua, where production in Estelí was carried out alongside Amílcar Pérez Castro.
