Vegas Robaina
Vegas Robaina is a Cuban cigar brand created by Habanos S.A. to honour tobacco growers, embodied by Alejandro Robaina, a renowned farmer from Vuelta Abajo. Its historic lines, Don Alejandro, Únicos, Famosos, Clásicos and Familiar, are made entirely by hand with selected Vuelta Abajo tobaccos, with strengths ranging from medium to full.
Geschichte
The Robaina family has grown tobacco since 1845 at Cuchillas de Barbacoa, in San Luis, Pinar del Río. In 1997, Habanos S.A. created the Vegas Robaina brand as a tribute to Cuban growers, placing Alejandro Robaina at its face. He was the namesake rather than the business founder, and his work was particularly tied to growing wrapper leaves.
In 2007, for the brand's tenth anniversary, a commemorative humidor shaped like a tobacco curing barn was produced. It held the five regular vitolas along with the special formats Dobles and Gorditos.
