3 Leaf
3 Leaf is a cigar brand created by Erik Wentworth and Jim Ferreira, whose name comes from a drawing by Wentworth's daughter depicting a three-leaved tobacco plant. Its two main lines, Connecticut and Habano, feature Ecuadorian wrappers, a Dominican binder and a filler blending Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos. The 5 x 50, 6 x 48 and 6 x 54 sizes favour balance and straightforward smoking.
History
Erik Wentworth, for many years one of the most visible figures behind Hammer & Sickle, chose to return to the cigar world with a brand built on his own vision. To realise it, he partnered with Jim Ferreira, a key collaborator in developing the blends. The name 3 Leaf draws on a drawing of a three-leaved tobacco plant made by Wentworth's daughter, which became the house's emblem. The cigars are produced in the Dominican Republic, and the brand handles its own distribution, growing at a deliberate pace.
