Aliados
Aliados is a cigar brand originating in Havana, Cuba, where it was founded in 1955 by Rolando Reyes. Today the house carries its legacy through two distinct lines, one crafted in Honduras and the other in the Dominican Republic.
History
Rolando Reyes learned his craft as a cigar roller before the Cuban Revolution, working for prestigious brands such as H.Upmann, Partagas and Romeo y Julieta. In 1955 he founded the Aliados brand in Havana, and at its height his factory produced nearly six million hand-rolled cigars each year. In the early 1960s the Castro government seized the factory, and Rolando finally left Cuba in 1970.
He settled in Honduras in 1990, drawn by growing conditions resembling those of Cuba, and revived his brand there. Today one line, crafted by Julio Eiroa in Honduras, continues the original blend Rolando perfected, while a special 2022 edition created by Ernesto Perez-Carrillo in the Dominican Republic draws its inspiration from that same blend.
