Freyja
Freyja is a premium cigar brand from the Dominican Republic, issued under the Las Cumbres Tabaco umbrella and produced at Tabacalera Palma. Its Scandinavian inspiration appears in vitolas named after Viking mythology, and its medium-bodied cigars offer remarkable complexity and a balanced smoke.
History
The brand was launched in 2015 under the Las Cumbres Tabaco umbrella, the company founded by José Blanco and Emma Viktorsson. Unusually, the blend was not created by José Blanco, one of the industry's best-known master blenders, but by Emma, who chose to make her own cigars after more than a decade in the premium tobacco world. The blend was produced at Tabacalera Palma alongside production manager Geraldito Pérez.
The name honours Freyja, the Norse goddess of love, beauty and fertility, who also led the Valkyries. Later, the Freyja 12 line was introduced to celebrate Emma's twelve years in the cigar industry, adding new vitolas such as Dvalinn.
