Isla del Sol
The Isla del Sol house is a Nicaraguan brand owned by Drew Estate that brings coffee directly into the cigar experience. Its cigars combine Nicaraguan tobaccos with Sumatra Mandheling coffee for a mild profile with notes of coffee, sweetness and chocolate. Its two main lines are Sun Grown and Maduro.
History
Isla del Sol grew out of Drew Estate's experiments with combining tobacco and coffee, carried out since 2002. According to Drew Estate, the brand was co-created with Tommy Sullivan, a much-loved figure in the cigar industry. It continues the house's research into flavour pairings. A link is also drawn to Drew Estate's former collaboration with Kahlúa, which pursued the same idea of coffee woven into the pleasure of the cigar.
