JJR
JJR is a Dominican cigar house founded by engineer José Ricardo Bautista Sánchez in Tamboril, Santiago province. Its lines, including the Toro Maduro, Torpedo, Doble Corona and Robusto, favour craftsmanship that respects traditional methods and balanced, enjoyable cigars.
History
The brand grew out of José Ricardo Bautista Sánchez's family ties to tobacco: as a child he watched his grandparents smoke and listened to their conversations about the artisanal production of cigars. That passion eventually became a brand linked to Tamboril, one of the Dominican Republic's major tobacco-growing and cigar-making regions.
The brand has been registered in the Dominican Republic since 2021 under Theter International, S.R.L., and the name JJR Cigar is associated with José Ricardo. Its cigars have since been shown at international trade fairs such as InterTabac and the China International Import Expo.
