The Oliva house is a Nicaraguan brand created by Oliva Cigar Co., part of the Vandermarliere and J. Cortès group. It produces premium cigars in Estelí, with signature lines such as the Serie V Melanio, the Serie O and the Serie G, appreciated by aficionados for their balance and flavours.

History

It all began in 1886, when Melanio Oliva decided to grow tobacco in the Pinar del Río region of Cuba. After fighting in the Cuban War of Independence, he returned to his passion for tobacco, and a lasting family tradition took root. In the 1920s, his son Facundo took over the plantation, but the rise of the communist regime led the family to seek new horizons. Gilberto Oliva, Melanio's grandson, then settled in Nicaragua, where he found fertile land.

In 1995, Gilberto and his son Gilberto Jr. founded Oliva Cigar Co. They first produced their cigars at Néstor Plasencia's factory, before establishing their own facility in Estelí. Since then, the house has continued to delight aficionados with premium-quality cigars.
