Barreda
The Barreda house is a Nicaraguan cigar brand rooted in a family devoted to tobacco since the 1970s, based in Estelí. It controls every stage of production, from growing and fermenting the leaf to hand-rolling, and offers Maduro, Habano, Cocktail and premium lines.
Historia
The story begins with Don Francisco Barreda, known as « Don Chico », who in the 1970s was already surrounded by Cuban master rollers. His passion for cigars passed down to the whole family, which became fully immersed in the world of tobacco.
In 2012, his grandson Oscar Barreda launched the brand and opened its own factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. Since then, the house handles cultivation, fermentation, ageing, sorting and hand-rolling itself. In 2023, Claudio Sgroi joined the family, helping raise quality and extend the brand's reach, especially in Europe.
