Black Star Line Cigars is an American boutique house, founded by Aric Bey and Keisha Dorsey, whose cigars are produced in Nicaragua, notably at Tabacalera La Isla, owned by Rojas Cigars. The brand stands out through a strong cultural identity drawn from African diaspora history, and through lines such as Rosewood 1923, War Witch and The Sheep.
Historia
Founded by Aric Bey and Keisha Dorsey, two passionate aficionados, the house chose from the outset an approach distinct from the traditional premium cigar formula. Its name refers to the Black Star Line created by Marcus Garvey in the early twentieth century, a project tied to the African diaspora and the Pan-African movement, an inspiration that runs through its bands, box artwork and the names of many lines. From its beginnings, the house positioned itself in the boutique segment, favouring small batches and collaborations with respected factories in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.
