Guantanamera
Guantanamera is a Cuban brand published by Habanos S.A., the state-linked company behind the Habano. It stands out for its accessible approach and mild-medium profile, with cigars made mechanically from tobaccos grown in the Vuelta Arriba region. Its signature vitolas are the Cristales, Décimos and Minutos.
Historia
The brand takes its name from the famous Cuban song « Guajira Guantanamera », written by José Fernández Díaz, which became an anthem of Caribbean sensibility. The Cuban version of Guantanamera was launched in 2002 by Habanos S.A. under license. Rather than the more celebrated Vuelta Abajo, it relies on tobacco from Vuelta Arriba, a choice that gives it a distinctive character and serves as an entry point into the world of the Habano.
