Plasencia
Plasencia is a cigar house from Nicaragua and Honduras, rooted in a tobacco dynasty built by the Plasencia family, which grows its own leaf. Its main lines, Alma Fuerte, Alma del Campo and Alma del Fuego, address aficionados seeking full-bodied, medium-bodied or spicy profiles.
Historia
The story begins in 1865, when Don Eduardo Plasencia left the Canary Islands for Cuba and planted the first seeds of a tobacco dynasty in the Vuelta Abajo region. His nephew Sixto Plasencia Juares joined the business in 1898, opened the Corojal farm in 1920, then founded "Hijos de Sixto Plasencia" in 1943. Political upheaval in Cuba forced the family into exile in 1963, first to Mexico, then Nicaragua. The Nicaraguan revolution drove them to Honduras in 1978, where the fourth generation, led by Néstor Plasencia, entered the business in 1987. The Plasencia Cigars brand was launched in 2017.
