Te-Amo
The Te-Amo house, from Mexico, embodies the classic Mexican cigar. Rooted in the Turrent family, a pioneer of Mexican tobacco, it is produced by Tabacos San Andrés and distributed by Swisher. Its authentic character and carefully developed lines appeal to aficionados.
Historia
In 1963, the fourth generation of the Turrent family, led by Alberto Turrent, founded the Te-Amo brand. Settled in Mexico in the 1880s, Alberto Turrent, born in Spain but long resident in Cuba, had brought Cuban tobacco seeds and found that the fertile volcanic soil of the San Andrés Valley suited a tobacco of refined flavour. For four generations the family devoted itself to this cultivation. Consolidated Cigar Co. later handled distribution. In 2000, following the merger of Consolidated Cigar Co. and Altadis, Te-Amo came under Altadis ownership while remaining produced by the Turrents. Alejandro, a fifth-generation Turrent, became Cigar Master at Altadis and expanded the range with Te Amo World Selection.
