El Pulpo
El Pulpo is a cigar brand rooted in Nicaragua, created under the Artesano del Tobacco project and driven by the Fakih brothers, Billy and Geson « Gus ». Recognisable by its gold octopus band and sea-themed vitola names, the house offers cigars with a distinct identity, from chunky box-pressed sizes to slim lanceros.
Geschichte
Billy and Geson « Gus » Fakih had spent years selling cigars in retail before moving into making their own. The concept began taking shape around 2016 and was refined for years until the wrapper and fermentation approach reached exactly the intended result. The first major formats, chunky box-pressed vitolas, formed the backbone of the brand.
The house then expanded its range: the Octo Ocho, a culebra braid splitting into three slim cigars, The Fry, a shorter size, The Squid, with its very distinctive finish, and The Eel, a long slim lancero. All these vitolas share the same DNA, with Nicaraguan binder and filler and a Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper.
