José L. Piedra
The José L. Piedra brand is a Cuban house produced by Habanos S.A. It stands apart by relying on tobacco leaves from the Remedios region, a rarity among Cuban cigars. Its seven vitolas, rolled entirely by hand with a short filler, deliver a medium to strong flavour.
Geschichte
The Piedra family, originally from Asturias, settled near Santa Clara in the central region of Remedios at the close of the nineteenth century. This land has been renowned for tobacco cultivation since the sixteenth century. José Luis Piedra, of the second generation, was the founder and developer of the brand as it is known today. He gave the house its identity, built on Remedios tobaccos and the Totalmente a Mano Tripa Corta technique.
