Juan López
Juan López is a Cuban cigar brand from Havana, named after its Spanish founder Juan López Díaz. Today produced under Habanos S.A., the house offers hand-rolled cigars made entirely from Cuban tobacco grown in the Vuelta Abajo region, with honest, medium to full-bodied flavours and a no-frills character.
Geschichte
The brand was founded in Havana in 1876 by Juan López Díaz, a Spaniard. After the founder's death, the house passed to his heirs before being sold to Sociedad Cosme del Peso in 1918. The Cuban nationalization of 1960 reshaped the sector, and production now falls under Habanos S.A. Over time the house developed several emblematic vitolas, including the Selección No. 1, Selección No. 2 and Petit Coronas. For its 150th anniversary and the thirtieth year of La Casa del Habano, it released a Selección Especial, while in 2025 the Juan López 54, a 120 mm × 54 Magnum, was offered as a Regional Edition for Spain.
