AJ Fernández is a Nicaraguan cigar house created by Abdel J. Fernández, known as AJ, who was born in San Luis, Cuba. Based in Estelí, it is recognised for bold, full-flavoured cigars and artisanal craftsmanship, with emblematic lines such as San Lotano, New World, El Enclave and Bellas Artes.
History
The house's story begins in San Luis, Cuba, where Abdel J. Fernández, known as AJ, grew up among tobacco fields and absorbed his family's tradition. He then settled in Estelí, Nicaragua, to set up his own factory and carry that heritage forward. He first produced cigars for other well-known brands before creating his own premium lines. His innovative approach to cultivation, blending traditional and modern techniques, together with collaborations with other prestigious houses, built the brand's reputation among aficionados worldwide.
