Esteban Carreras
Esteban Carreras is a Nicaraguan house whose cigars are produced in Estelí by Tabacalera Carreras. Focused on boutique cigars built largely around Nicaraguan leaf, it offers a varied portfolio, including the Chupacabra, Mr. Brownstone and Dictator's Hand lines.
History
The brand was conceived with a clear focus on boutique cigars built around Nicaraguan tobacco, and it earned worldwide recognition over the years. Master blender Craig Cunningham played a key role in developing many of its blends. In 2012 the Chupacabra debuted, inspired by the legendary Latin American creature, its pigtail cap and shaggy foot becoming recognisable signatures. The Estelí factory also manufactures cigars for other brands, a sign of the reputation the house has earned within the premium tobacco industry.
