History
Tabaqueria de Filipinas was founded in 1993 by Gabriel Ripoll Jr., a tobacco industry veteran with more than four decades of experience. His aim was to restore the prestige of the handcrafted Philippine cigar, relying on tobacco leaves grown in the country's northern regions and on traditional manufacturing techniques. The house draws on the legacy of the Manila cigars, which gained worldwide renown in the late 19th century and were exported throughout Europe and the United States. Today, Flor de Filipinas remains one of the leading names in premium Philippine cigars.
