German Engineered Cigars
German Engineered Cigars is a German house founded in Hamburg, whose cigars are handcrafted in the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua using an engineering-inspired approach. Its style puts the smoking experience first, with the cigar designed around it. Its main lines include RVGN Rauchvergnügen, Raumzeit, Weltschmerz, Kraftwerk and the more recent RVGN Extrem.
History
The house was founded in Hamburg in 2016 by Oliver Nickels and Jan Klaas Mahler, with an unusual concept: design the smoking experience first, then create the cigar capable of delivering it. It became one of the first premium cigar brands to introduce NFC-enabled bands, allowing aficionados to access tasting notes and production details with a simple tap of a smartphone. Its AKUT packaging, inspired by pharmaceutical blister packs, and certain cigars named after their volume in cubic centimetres reflect its spirit of innovation.
