L'Atelier is a Nicaraguan cigar house founded by Pete Johnson, the craftsman behind Tatuaje, together with his brother K.C. Johnson. Its handmade cigars, produced at the García family's factory, rely on rare tobaccos and limited editions, with signature lines such as the Original, the LAT Selection Spéciale and the Côte d'Or.

History

The house was founded in 2012 by Pete Johnson and his brother K.C. Johnson, joined by a few fellow smokers. The name, meaning "the workshop" in French, reflects a vocation for experimentation, where tobacco is blended and refined with uncompromising artisanal rigour. The cigars are handmade in Nicaragua at the García family's factory, known as My Father Cigars. This limited production, built around rare tobaccos such as the Sancti Spiritus wrapper, has given rise to highly sought-after lines, including the limited Côte d'Or and the bolder Surrogates range, an offshoot of the house.
