La Alternativa
La Alternativa is a cigar brand created for Spanish aficionados seeking an everyday smoke built on a carefully developed blend. Conceived by Jaime de Juana and Abe Flores of PDR Cigars, it is produced in the Dominican Republic using a fully handmade, long-filler construction. Its portfolio spans four vitolas, from the Short Robusto to the Wide Toro.
History
La Alternativa was conceived from the outset for the Spanish market, offering an alternative to occasion-driven cigars. Its name comes with a philosophy printed on the bands, « Triple B », meaning bueno, bonito y barato: good, attractive and affordable. The project rests on Jaime de Juana and Abe Flores of PDR Cigars, who oversee its development and production in the Dominican Republic. The blend, pairing a Mexican San Andrés wrapper with Dominican tobaccos, was designed as a blend exclusive to Spain, making the everyday cigar its very reason for being.
