La Estancia
La Estancia is a cigar house of Belgian origin, created by the Meerapfel family through its company Meerapfel & Söhne, which draws on a long tradition in tobacco. Its cigars, aimed at the European market, stand out for a blend that pairs Cuban and Nicaraguan tobacco in equal parts, along with African wrappers grown in Cameroon.
La Estancia is a cigar brand from Nicaragua. Humido lists 26 cigars from the brand, across 5 lines. Most common sizes: Robusto (4), Toro (2) and Giants (1). Average press rating across its cigars: 90/100.
History
The house belongs to the story of the Meerapfel family, long established in the tobacco industry. Jérémie Meerapfel's grandfather, Heller Meerapfel, was among the largest buyers of Cuban tobacco, a lineage that built the family's expertise. The creation of La Estancia was then led by brothers Jérémie and Joshua Meerapfel, who currently run Meerapfel & Söhne. They drew on the family's reserves of Cuban tobacco to design an exclusive range for the European market.
