Arturo Fuente
Arturo Fuente is a Dominican house built by the Tabacalera A. Fuente. Known for its uncompromising standard of quality, it is a reference in premium cigars, with the OpusX line as its most celebrated creation, made from wrapper tobacco grown on the family's own land.
Historia
Cuban immigrant Arturo Fuente launched the brand in 1912 from the backyard of his home in West Tampa, Florida, with the help of his family. A fire destroyed the factory in 1924, and operations stayed on hold for more than twenty years. The Fuente family resumed production in Ybor City in 1946. In 1958, Carlos Fuente, Arturo's son, bought the company for a symbolic dollar and took the brand to the top of the cigar world. In the late 1980s, the family stopped relying on outside suppliers and began growing its own wrapper tobacco in the Dominican Republic, which led to the creation of the OpusX line.
