Casa Turrent
Casa Turrent is a Mexican cigar house rooted in the Turrent family, of Catalan origin, established in San Andrés Tuxtla in the state of Veracruz. Its style draws on tobaccos grown and cured by the family, especially the San Andrés maduro leaf. Its main lines include the Triple Play, the Puro Corojo and the 6 Generations.
Historia
The family's story goes back to the late nineteenth century, when Antonio Turrent, the pioneer, arrived in the region at the age of 18 and settled in San Andrés Tuxtla. His son, also named Antonio, began the tradition of growing tobacco around 1880. Since then, the family has been deeply involved in Mexico's tobacco industry. Today, Alberto and Alejandro Turrent, the fourth and fifth generations, run Nueva Matacapan de Tabacos S.A. de C.V., which stands as the largest tobacco producer for cigars in Mexico.
