Factory Throwouts
Factory Throwouts is an American brand from the J.C. Newman Cigar Company, the oldest family-owned cigar manufacturer in the United States. Its cigars are made in Tampa, Florida, with an Ecuador Sungrown wrapper and Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers. The range centres on three classic sizes: No. 49, No. 59 and No. 99, offered in Natural, Sweet or Claro versions.
Historia
The J.C. Newman Cigar Company was founded in 1895 by Julius Caeser Newman and remains in the hands of his family. Its cigars are produced at the legendary El Reloj factory in Tampa, where hand-operated cigar-making machines in service since the 1930s and 1940s are still used. The name Factory Throwouts refers to wrapper leaves whose slight colour variations do not affect flavour or combustion but fall outside the strict cosmetic standards of premium lines. This choice allows a carefully made cigar to be offered at an accessible level.
