Herrera Esteli
The Herrera Esteli house is a Nicaraguan cigar brand from Drew Estate, created by master blender Willy Herrera, who is of Cuban descent. It blends Cuban tobacco-making tradition with New World leaves, and its main lines include the Piramide Fino and the Brazilian Maduro.
Historia
The blend originated in 2010, when Willy Herrera created several blends during a visit to Drew Estate's factory in Nicaragua, one of which became the foundation of the brand. Herrera, of Cuban descent and coming from the small family-run El Titan de Bronze factory in Little Havana, Miami, joined Drew Estate in 2011. The brand officially launched in 2013, after Herrera spent a year working daily on the production floor at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate in Estelí.
The original cigar combines Nicaraguan tobaccos, a Honduran binder and an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. The Piramide Fino, measuring 6 inches with a 52 ring gauge, earned 94 points and ranked No. 8 among Cigar Aficionado's best cigars of 2013. The range later expanded with the Brazilian Maduro and the Miami.
