Hooten Young
Hooten Young is a cigar and whiskey house built on remembrance and military heritage, founded by Norm Hooten and Tim Young. Its handcrafted premium cigars carry names drawn from military operations, such as Operator, Ma Deuce and the Paladin series, each with a distinct identity of its own.
Historia
The house began around a campfire among friends, with the aim of preserving stories and remembering people. Norm Hooten, a former U.S. Army Special Operations Master Sergeant, is the real-life "Hoot" who took part in the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu, the event that inspired the film Black Hawk Down. His background runs through the entire portfolio. Among the notable vitolas is the Operation Gothic Serpent 30th Anniversary, a 6 1/2-inch Belicoso with a 54 ring gauge, created to commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of the battle. Its wrapper is Ecuadorian Sumatra, enveloping Dominican binder and filler tobaccos. The motto "Made to Remember" sums up the house's spirit, and it supports organizations connected with veterans and military personnel.
