The right range
Humidity of 65 to 70% and temperature of 16 to 20 °C. Too humid and the cigar burns badly and may mould; too dry and the wrapper cracks and the aromas fade.
Above 24 °C the risk of tobacco beetles rises: keep your humidor away from sunlight and heat.
The humidor
Spanish cedar regulates humidity and keeps odours out. A new humidor must be “seasoned”: moisten the wood for a few days before putting cigars in.
Beads, crystals or two-way humidity packs: check the humidifier weekly and test the hygrometer now and then.
Ageing your cigars
Well stored, many cigars round out over time. Record the purchase date and, if you like, an ageing goal: Humido lets you know when a cigar is ready.
In the app
Each humidor has its humidity and temperature readings, care reminders and inventory. Rate or give away a cigar from your humidor and it is removed automatically.
