History

The brand was established in 1885 in Havana by the company Cabañas y Castro, with the aim of capturing the soul of a true Habano. In 1905, José F. Rocha acquired it and moved production into his own factory. In 1954, after Rocha's death, the Cifuentes family, already linked to Partagás, took over the brand and installed its manufacture in the famous Partagás factory, where it is still made today. Following the Cuban Revolution the brand paused briefly before returning in the 1960s with a more artisanal character.
